Fundraising
We host a number of fundraising events throughout the year. Our most recent, our Love Water Ball was a huge success.
Rafters in 2007
Love Water Ball
As part of our fundraising programme, Thames Water organised a glittering Love Water Ball which raised over £210,000 for WaterAid.
The event was generously supported by platinum sponsor Llaing O'Rourke and gold sponsors Interserve, Wipro and Morrisons.
Over 500 guests, including our employees and people from organisations with whom we work, came to enjoy the evening at the prestigious Hurlingham Club in Hammersmith, London.
Among the many attractions were comedians Lenny Henry, who treated the audience to some top-quality stand-up, and compere Bob Mills.
Raft race
Each year we organise a raft race for our employees on the River Thames. Last year we raised £21,000.
Treasure hunt
Our graduates raised £10,000 by organising a treasure hunt around London and a race night in Reading.
WaterAid lottery
Our WaterAid lottery, managed by employee volunteers, continues to be incredibly popular. This year the lottery raised more than £60,000.
Other fundraising
Some other notable fundraising events our employees have participated in are: running the London Marathon, walking the length of the Thames Pathway, conquering the Munro Challenge, and organising quiz nights, golf days and pantomimes.
We also look at innovative ways of fundraising for WaterAid whilst delivering our other corporate responsibility initiatives. Any profits made from our new groundbreaking London On Tap campaign will go to WaterAid.
During 2008/09, we are aiming to raise £200,000 for WaterAid.
